Community Clay Date is intended to create a space to explore your relationship with your hands and the wonderful material, clay, in a community space.
This is a handbuilding class for ALL levels - no experience required. And yes, you are creative enough to participate.
To promote relationship-building with self and to minimize distractions while maximizing creative capacity, the only tools we will use in class are our hands (or basic tools only when necessary)!
This class will be instructed, but loosely, to allow individual creative expression; this space is where guidance and freedom meet.
In this class we will use black clay to make heart-shaped anythings. But self-expression is key, so if you are compelled to make another form then that is quite alright - it simply won’t be guided.
Pieces made in the session will not be glazed (not food-safe), but they will be precious.
Pieces made in the session will be fired and ready for pick-up within 3 weeks of the play date. My friends at R+R Collective Co. have offered up their store as the pick-up location. More details on location and hours will be emailed once pieces are ready.
Each ticket covers the price for one person to attend class. Class is for those 18 years of age and up. (If you want to bring a little person, please email me ahead of time so I know; they will require their own ticket).
Materials and firings are included in the price - simply show up!
