The (Short) Story
My goal with Meechi Ceramics is to make functional ceramic goods that will work their way into your daily lives. The medium has taught me so many lessons (patience, non-attachment, surrender, focus, presence, acceptance, playfulness) and in a way I am hoping that these lessons I have learned and am still learning are somehow imparted to the owner a little bit with each use of a Meechi piece.
I focus on functional objects, mostly made on the potter’s wheel, and though ceramics can sometimes be seen as still life pieces, I want mine to be utilized in real life rituals. So if you take home any of my claybies show them you love them by allowing them to keep you company often, at any occasion.
